FIELD: transportation of gases. SUBSTANCE: method includes measurement of parameters of gas flow, transmission of measurement information and processing of this information at control station; used as measurement parameters of gas flow are: pressure, rate of flow and temperature; torque and rotational speed are measured on shaft of gas-transfer unit; data thus obtained are used for calculating the mechanical energy on shaft of gas-transfer unit and kinetic energy of gas flow in pipe line; efficiency of gas transport complex is determined and compared with nominal magnitude designed for given mode of operation; technical condition is judged from results of comparison. EFFECT: possibility of finding optimal modes of operation of gas transport complex; enhanced efficiency.
