FIELD: study of vulnerability of materials to damage; methods of determination of characteristics of resistance of materials to fatigue failure; determination of remaining operating time of articles for prediction of their service life in designing; determination of flexural rigidly of parts under action of cyclic loading. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in determination of dependence of ratio of bending at the moment of beginning of prompt increase to sagging at the initial moment of loading to number of loading cycles at the moment of beginning of prompt increase of sagging of article made from material under test according to the results of test of specimens under conditions of cyclic loading at preset temperature. Dependence thus obtained is approximated by linear function and rate of vulnerability to damage is found from equation obtained at this. EFFECT: facilitated procedure of study of material property; enhanced accuracy; possibility of predicting durability and remaining operating time of article irrespective of their characteristics. 12 dwg, 1 tbl _
