FIELD: electrical engineering, technology of manufacture of electromagnetic switching devices. SUBSTANCE: process of machining of billets of electromagnetic switching devices includes drilling of holes and cutting thread in them in various planes of billets. Holes are drilled and thread in them is cut by aggregate semi-automatic machine with six power heads. Each head is fitted with eight multi- spindle checkers. Power heads are arranged around common rotary table equipped with fixtures to carry billets positioned on two sets. Multi-spindle checkers are located on eight small tables of which five are mounted horizontally and three - vertically. Two billets each of them being put into proper fixture on corresponding set are machined. Common rotary table is divided into positions whose number corresponds to number of checkers of power head. Both billets are machined simultaneously at each position of common rotary table in sequence as it turns. At first position billets are put into fixtures of two sets, one of them being turned over. After this first, third, fourth, fifth, seventh and eighth multispindle checkers are brought into operation and table turns till they pass through all positions. In this case one hole is drilled in billet at second, third and fourth positions, thread is cut at fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth positions. Then billets change places. One of them is put into fixture for billets at second set, is turned over and complete cycle of positions is repeated, holes are drilled and thread is cut in other planes of billets in above-mentioned sequence. EFFECT: enhanced productivity of process thanks to simultaneous machining of two billets at all positions of rotary table which makes it feasible to shorten machining time and to reduce labor input due to exclusion of operations of movement of billets for machining of each next hole. 4 cl, 12 dwg
