FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: workpiece is ground with a flexible tool. The working surface of the tool is covered with an abrasive and not working surface is rigid. The chamber of the tool is filled up with a cutting fluid in a solid state. Ultrasonic vibrations are imparted to the workpiece in the direction of the tool intensifying contact between the tool and the workpiece and making the cutting fluid to be in a liquid state supplying it to the cutting zone through passages provided in the working surface of the tool. EFFECT: improved conditions of micro-cutting and contact between interacting surfaces, enhanced quality of grinding. 2 cl, 1 dwg
