FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is composition which is essentially optical barrier which makes it possible to make solid surface coatings without problem of visualizing substrate surface through thin surface coating, sheet, and laminated material (variants thereof). Optical barriers are filled with thermoplastic material which blocks at least 90% of light passing through it and has thickness between about 25.4 mcm and about 1270 mcm. Optical barriers are intended for disposing between substrate and decorative top layer, which is either transparent or semitransparent. Composition comprises, wt %: thermoplastic material, 50-90; filler, 5-60; opacity agent, 1-10; and fiber 1-10. Sheet is made of said composition. Laminated material comprises decorative layer, first thermoplastic material and filler and modifier which increases impact strength opaque layer comprising second thermoplastic material, second filler, opacity agent, and fiber. EFFECT: improved characteristics of optical barrier to obstruct visibility or to prevent visibility of surface features of substrate through surface plastic coatings. 22 cl
