FIELD: poison disposal. SUBSTANCE: method involves alkali hydrolysis of lewisite with sodium hydroxide solution and is characterized by that hydrolyzed reaction mixture is further oxidized by aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide at 60-80 C to give sodium arsenate. Resulting solution is concentrated until arsenate ion level arrives at 129 g/kg, cooled to 0-5 C, and sodium arsenate-dodecahydrate is then separated by filtration at pH 13.
