FIELD: packing and packing containers. SUBSTANCE: packing material has base layer made of paper or cardboard, polyvinyl alcohol layer and intermediate layer consisting of mixture of polyvinyl alcohol and gel-forming substance. Method of manufacturing of such material consists in coating of base layer with water mixture of gel-forming substance and polyvinyl alcohol which turns into gelatin in contact with base layer. Then layer of water polyvinyl alcohol is applied to intermediate layer which is subsequently dried for correcting moisture content in this layer. Proposed method reduces consumption of polyvinyl alcohol at forming oxygen-tight layer owing to prevention of its excessive penetration into base layer. Intermediate layer smoothes out round surface structure of base layer and forms smooth base for layer of polyvinyl alcohol. EFFECT: improved quality of laminated packing material. 16 cl, 3 dwg
