DEVICE FOR AEROBIC BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT OF SEWAGE BY ACTIVATED SLUDGE Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: treatment of sewage and its sediment by microorganisms; biological cleaning of domestic and industrial sewage from organic admixtures and compounds of ammonium nitrogen; aerobic stabilization of sewage sediment. SUBSTANCE: proposed device includes biofilter with packing, sewage delivery chute, aerotank with aerators, secondary settler with layer of settling activated sludge, recirculating pump and return activated sludge pipe line. Biofilter is made in form of float with packing located in upper portion of aerotank passages. Floats with packing are located along bubblers of aerators above jets of water-and-air flow formed by bubblers. Floats with packing ensure presence of 0.1 to 0.3 part of adhesive microorganisms of total biocenosis mass. Biofilter is sunken in aerotank. Floats are secured in aerotank means of cords and ropes provided with weights and empty hermetic pipes.
