FIELD: mobile communication systems. SUBSTANCE: the switching center of mobile parties makes a request for rendering of service in determination of location in the base station controller, in response the base station controller makes a request for assignment of a channel for the mobile station at least in two adjacent base transceiving stations. If the adjacent base transceiving stations connect a channel and send a reply signal to the base station controller, the latter generates a command to the base transceiving stations for a request of a signal with a power switching function. The servicing base transceiving station generates a command to the mobile station for transmission of a signal with a power switching function in accordance with the command of the base station controller. The mobile station transmits the signal with a power switching function to the servicing base transceiving station and adjacent base transceiving stations in accordance with the command of the servicing base transceiving station. The servicing base transceiving station and the adjacent base transceiving stations detect the parameters requested for determination of location with the aid of reception of the signal with a power switching function with a different time delay respectively. The servicing base transceiving station and the adjacent base transceiving stations transmit a message to the base station controller on the detected parameters, the base station controller transmits the parameters that are transmitted from the servicing base transceiving stations and the adjacent base transceiving stations to the switching center of mobile parties. Then, the switching center of mobile parties computes the location of the mobile station with the use of the obtained parameters. EFFECT: reduced equipment expenditures. 14 cl, 5 dwg
