FIELD: data technology. SUBSTANCE: method involves shaping of signal characterizing physical system in numeric form, signal conversion at supervision interval by its sampling in sampling-step number matrix, shaping of data locations in mentioned sampling-step matrix of four modular integral values of numbers residing in four joined quadrants of data pattern of any size within matrix which are multiples of sampling step by shifting data pattern of each size through one sampling step over entire matrix, and addition of numbers entering each quadrant of data pattern ; data image of physical system functional organization is found from modular integral values of numbers in quadrant locations by finding graphical symbol of each location expressing arrangement sequence of modular integral values of numbers in quadrants of each location. As an alternative, data image of physical-system functional organization is found by means of special numbering of quadrant values. EFFECT: provision for detecting system ties of functional system. 5 cl, 18 dwg, 9 tbl
