FIELD: oxidation catalysts. SUBSTANCE: method including carbon grinding, granulation, and carbonization steps is characterized by that gas black is ground with 0.5 to 5.0% of alpha-iron oxide until content of particles 100 mcm and larger exceeds 60% and granulation of mixture is carried out in presence of water to produce spherical granules. The latter are carbonized in inert medium at 700-800 C until residual content of volatile substances achieves 12%, after which granules are subjected to gas-vapor activation at 750-850 C to achieve burning value 30-40%.
