FIELD: plastic metal working; applicable in straightening of long articles by tensioning, twisting and bending. SUBSTANCE: method includes continuous measurement of force applied to article and deformation caused by this force, and differentiation of article working stages After taking up clearances and attaining value of applied force equaling operation loading value, subject to continuous measurement are parameters of acoustic emission occurring in article by which presence of defects in article is detected. If defects are absent, derivative of efficient value of acoustic emission by deformation is determined. Differentiation of stages of article deformation is effected by comparison of value of this derivative with zero. After beginning of plastic deformation, running vale of deformation with required vale of residual deformation is compared, and in case of their equality, straightening process is discontinued. EFFECT: most efficient application of claimed method in straightening of long articles of small diameter by tension and twisting. 2 dwg
