FIELD: food industry, more particularly production of calcium phosphates. SUBSTANCE: method comprises evaporating phosphoric acid to P2O5 content of 65-67.5%, subsequently neutralizing with calcium carbonate at CaO/P2O5 initial molar ratio of (0.95-1.0):1 and finely dividing the resulting compound to form particles with particle size of not greater than 0.10 mm. EFFECT: shorter process duration, elimination of power-consuming technological operations due to lower viscosity and moisture content of the resulting compound of monosubstituted calcium orthophosphate, increased yield and improved quality of the commercial product. 1 tbl
