HYDRAULIC FLUID FOR ELECTROLYTIC RESISTIVE CONVERTER Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

Abstract RU 2172932 C1

FIELD: geophysical instrumentation. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for determining angles of inclination of objects, in particular when performing inclinometric examinations of wells. Hydraulic fluid represents solution of ionophore (potassium hexafluorophosphate) in liquid organic solvent (propylenecarbonate) and is characterized by transport numbers for quantity of electricity for cation and anion close to 0.5. Concentration of ionophore ranges from 1,0•10-4 to 3•10-4 kg-equ.m-3. Potassium hexafluorophosphate, contrary to other ionophores, does not catalyze thermal degradation of propylenecarbonate. Constancy of resistive properties of hydraulic fluid persists within ambient temperature range of 230 to 473 C with insignificant capacity of total electrical resistivity of electrolytic cells. Hydraulic fluid is inert to corrosionresistant steels and possesses freezing and boiling temperatures essentially corresponding to those of solvent (223 K and 515 K, respectively). EFFECT: improved technical characteristics of inclination transducers and other types of electrolytic resistive converters within large temperature range. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
