FIELD: pretreatment of soiled fabrics, more particularly compositions for use in pretreatment and in method of pretreatment. SUBSTANCE: liquid detergent composition comprises, wt %: peroxide bleacher 0.5-20, compound chelating copper and/or iron, and/or manganese, selected from group consisting of methylglycine diacetic acid, propylenediamine tetraacetic acid, 2-hydroxypyridine N-oxide, ethylene dinitrylotetra- kismethylenephosphonic acid N, N-oxide, hydroxyethane diphosphonic acid or mixture thereof, except for composition comprising hydrogen peroxide in amount of 5 wt % and hydroxyethane diphosphonic acid in amount of 0.1 wt %. Also described is method of pretreating fabric which comprises applying composition as described above onto fabric in pure form and contacting prior to washing. Described is use of chelating agent selected from group as given above for improving chemical stability of said composition.
