FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: given separator for nickel-hydrogen cell can be used in manufacture of matrixes of electrolyte carriers for fuel elements with alkaline electrolyte. Separator for nickel-hydrogen cell has zirconium dioxide and converted chrysolite asbestos with fiber diameter between 0.04 and 0.10 μ with following proportion of components, per cent by mass: zirconium dioxide 90.0-75.0; converted chrysolite asbestos 10.0- 25.0. EFFECT: manufacture of separators with homogeneous porous structure with increased gas-trapping properties and high corrosion resistance of separator. 2 tbl
