FIELD: electrical engineering, study of behavior f composite materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention is specifically related to porous flexible materials for chemical sources of electric energy. Technical result of invention consists in development of composite material suitable for manufacture of separators of alkaline storage batteries that can hold electrolyte and will not prevent electrochemical reaction and demonstrates high chemical resistance to action of electrolyte under conditions of long-term operation and storage at routine and increased temperatures. In compliance with invention proposed composite material to manufacture separators of alkaline storage batteries has powder of zirconium dioxide and fibers based on zirconium dioxide with following proportion of components, per cent by mass: powder of zirconium dioxide 50.0-72.0; fibers of zirconium dioxide 28.0-50.0. Diameter of fiber of zirconium dioxide amounts to 1.5-12.0 mcm and diameters of particles of powder of zirconium dioxide is 0.05-10.0 mcm.
EFFECT: development of composite material suitable for manufacture of separators for alkaline storage batteries intended for long-term storage and operation.
