FIELD: synthetic sorbents. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacture of fibrous synthetic materials from thermoplastics and their mixtures including both quality industrial stock and various types domestic and industrial thermoplastic wastes. Novelty consists in that fiber formation process is carried out in paraboloid-shaped rotary reactor mounted vertically downwards, which is heated by circulating water steam flow. Invention can be most advantageously applied for production of sorbents catching crude oil and petroleum products as well as a series of heavy metals from water. EFFECT: significantly reduced power consumption and improved quality of fibers. 2 cl, 2 dwg
