FIELD: medical engineering; medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves giving to a patient a mouth piece for starting blowing. Inhalation breathing phase is carried out through nose and the expired air is directed into the mouthpiece. Expired gases are analyzed after their passing through sampler member of non-selective gas analyzer for determining combustion gases concentration in the expired air and measuring their integral index. The value being within the limits of 5- 1 of gas analyzer per cent scale having measurement range from 0 to 0.1 % by volume on methane, pathologic deviations are considered to be found in organism state. The device has sampler member provided with sensitive member introduced into one of bridge unit arms connected to stabilizer unit and indication unit. Heating member having internal temperature of 38+3°C is mounted outside of the sampler member. EFFECT: simplified design and method; low cost large-scale investigation. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 3 tbl
