MOTOR UNIT Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: crossing-and bridge equipment; tows. SUBSTANCE: motor unit has housing with roadway built into deck, butt-joints units on sides and wells on bottom, motor and water jet propellers, including axial-flow pump with ring water intake and nozzle which can turn through 360 deg. Each well is furnished with ring protective screen secured to housing bottom. Bracket is connected to each turnable nozzle stationary and parallel to its longitudinal axis. Removable cutting member is installed on free end of bracket. Upper plane of cutting member adjoins lower surface of protective screen. Removable cutting member is made in form of plate with longitudinal cutting edges. Proposed invention makes it possible to operate motor unit as independent means in shallow waters and as component part of ferries and floating bridges. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities of known motor units. 2 cl, 6 dwg
