FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: device used in bearing structures of frames, coverings, columns, and other members of residential, industrial, and public buildings and other structures is made of channel bars joined together by longitudinal welded joints and of angle pieces to form closed cells, at least one of cells being pentahedral. Formed pentahedral cells may be joined by channel bar walls, ledges, or angle-piece tubers to form composite closed sections of different configurations. Cells are asymmetrical relative to one of main axes. Inner space of cells may be filled with concrete or other filler. Center of gravity of pentahedral-cell section is practically equidistant from material of walls. Material is rationally distributed throughout section of structure due to proposed shape of thin-slab structure and is reduced to minimum. In addition, physical shape may be developed in different directions not always orthogonal or parallel with minimal cost which provides for extending spectrum of solutions concerned with planning buildings and structures using alternative design solutions.
