FIELD: adjustment of drilling conditions. SUBSTANCE: given method includes analysis of compression strength of rocks of geological formation for hole interval on which boring with the aid of drill is planned. Joint analysis of degree of wear of critical structure of drill having same size and design as structure of specified drill is also conducted. In this case critical structure of drill is used to bore material having approximately same value of compression strength as analyzed rock and corresponding drilling data for worn structure are utilized. Results of analysis determine ultimate level of productivity for proper index of compression strength which excess leads to intensive wear of drill. Adjustment of drilling conditions which can include such parameters as load on drill, its rotation speed at which specified drill is employed is allowed to keep needed level of operational productivity less or equal to ultimate level of productivity. After determination of some acceptable combinations of rotation speed and load on drill, that is, operational conditions which can provide for required level of working productivity optimization of these operational conditions is provided. Use of method makes it feasible to prevent catastrophic failure of drills and to secure correspondence between duration of employment of drill and its operational parameters, load on drill and its rotation speed included.
