FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: pneumatic hammer has handle, casing with central channel, damper-type housing, striker, working stroke cavity and idle stroke cavity, exhaust through channels, hood defining in conjunction with housing annular dead chamber, intermediate housing, working tool and working tool carrier for holding working tool in required position with respect to housing. Exhaust through channels are extending in housing between idle stroke cavity and working stroke cavity. Pneumatic hammer may be used in pneumatic percussive hand-held machines and in other types of machines. Construction of pneumatic hammer provides for improved suppression of noise created by discharged waste air.
