FIELD: construction engineering; laying main oil lines, petroleum product lines, gas lines and water lines of any purpose. SUBSTANCE: unit includes frame on which hydraulic press is mounted; hydraulic press is provided with hydraulic cylinders, drawn plate and thrust plate having central mounting holes for receiving die and stop. Hydraulic press is mounted on movable carriage of frame; movable carriage is connected with output shaft of reduction gear through gear train; reduction gear secured on frame is used for longitudinal motion of hydraulic press relative to frame. Front and rear centering mounts fitted on frame are used for centering the ends of pipes being connected relative to die and stop. Central mounting holes in draw and thrust plates are taper in shape; die and stop received by these holes have taper outer surfaces. Front centering mount is connected via gearing system with mechanism of its longitudinal motion relative to frame; front and rear centering mounts are provided with devices adjusting the position of draw and thrust plates of hydraulic press relative to central mounting holes. Besides that, draw and thrust plates are provided with adapter rings with taper outer surface corresponding to central mounting holes of draw and thrust plates and inner taper surfaces corresponding to outer taper surfaces of die and stop; stop is provided with additional thrust detachable ring.
