FIELD: roentgen engineering; roentgenography, flaw detection, medical diagnostics, etc. SUBSTANCE: tube is, essentially, pulse- operated X-ray apparatus used to produce short high-intensity X-ray bursts for recording fast processes in optically dense media. It has burst- emission cathode in the form of heat-resistant dielectric disk carrying rake formed by metal disks with radial slits spreading from center, its inner diameter being larger than that of dielectric disk. Ends of rake teeth are in springy contact with butt-end surface of dielectric disk; rake-to- dielectric-washer contact assembly faces output aperture. Anode is made in the form of rod or cone terminating in semi-sphere and projecting beyond section plane perpendicular to tube axis that passes through contacts of dielectric disk and rake over distance not in excess of semi- sphere radius. EFFECT: improved spatial uniformity, burst-to-burst stability, radiation quality; reduced rate of supply voltage growth. 2 dwg
