CRAB REPRODUCTION METHOD (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

Abstract RU 2174750 C2

FIELD: fish industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves collecting crab larvae in collectors, store ponds and/or ponds provided at depths of 5-150 m in sea regions with water temperature not exceeding 18 C, salinity of at least 28%, dissolved oxygen content in water of at least 5 ml/l; growing fry to the age of 4 months - 3 years; arranging collectors, store ponds or growing ponds at a distance of 0.3-6.0 m one from another; using collectors or store ponds where crab fry may be grown without resetting up to 4-18 month age; settling crab fry to ground or artificial bottom constructions (reef) or into ponds, where crab fry is grown up to 2-3 year age; resettling crab fry onto ground or artificial bottom constructions (reef); collecting larvae in collectors or store ponds, where crab fry is grown up to 4-12 month age; resettling into ponds in amounts providing their survival during the entire cultivation period; additionally growing crab fry in nursery ponds up to 2-3 year age; resettling onto ground or artificial bottom constructions. For reproducing deep-sea kinds of crabs, such as Paralithodes platypus (Brant), Paralithodes brevipes (A.Milne-Edwards et Luca), Chionocetes angulatus (Rathbun), Lithodes aequispina (Benedict), Lithodes Couesi (Benedict), Paralomis multispina (Benedict), Paralomis Verrilli (Benedict), bottom collectors or bottom constructions (reef) are arranged at 100-2.500 m depth in sea regions with water temperature below 18 C, salinity of at least 28%, content of dissolved oxygen in water of at least 5 ml/l. Bottom collectors may be set on sea bottom sites with 60 deg gradient at a distance of 1-200 m one from another. EFFECT: increased efficiency by providing restoration of crab population and producing viable crab fry in natural conditions. 7 cl, 5 ex
