FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: combined ammonia-methanol production plant has first in-series arranged first primary reforming section and secondary reforming section for producing first gas phase containing carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen, ammonia synthesis section, methanol synthesis section, and, additionally: means to feed methane and steam into the first primary reforming section; "exchange"-type second primary reforming section to produce second gas phase containing carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen; means to feed methane and steam into reaction zone; connection means between secondary reforming section and second primary reforming section; means for indirect heat exchange between first gas phase and methane and water steam in second primary reforming section; connection means between second primary reforming section and methanol synthesis section; and connection means between second primary reforming section and ammonia synthesis section to feed first gas phase into the latter . Process includes step in which methane and steam are fed into reaction zone located in second primary reforming section. Simultaneously, first gas phase is fed outside into the same reaction zone. Methane and steam interact by means of indirect heat exchange with the first gas phase to form second gas phase. First gas phase leaving second primary reforming section is introduced into ammonia synthesis section and second gas phase into methanol synthesis section. EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency. 14 cl
