FIELD: hair care equipment. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has basic part and at least one active part movable relative to basic part and equipped with hair gripping members. Movable part is displaced in at least two planes by means of drive, which operates so that movable part or hair gripping members are caused to vibrate ar frequency of from 25 to 130 Hz. Method involves bringing lower ends of hair gripping members for contact with head; providing gripping of hair with hair-gripping members in the process of displacement of mentioned members ar frequency of 25-130 Hz and slightly raising and quickly drying hair in such position. Air stream device has air admission and air discharge openings. Apparatus may be detachably connected to air stream device at its air discharge side or it may be made integral with said device. Apparatus and method are used for hair care, in particular, for imparting shape to hair or for drying hair.
