FIELD: hair forming equipment. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has handle, heating part with hair heating zone, cooling zone and hair forming member made as forming edge. Forming edge is positioned behind heating zone, and cooling zone is positioned behind forming edge so that hair to be formed is heated in heating zone, heated hair strand changes its shape in zone adjacent to forming edge, and newly formed hair strand is cooled in cooling zone. Method involves heating hair strand in heating zone; imparting new shape to heated hair strand by means of forming member made as forming edge; cooling newly formed hair strand in cooling zone. Method and apparatus allow hair to be formed into curls, with diameter of curls and type of curls not depending upon diameter of hair winding member, and curls keeping their shape for prolonged time.
