FIELD: data carriers. SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for use in contact-free cards with built-in microcircuit and secures technical result lying in provision of capability to receive any type of modulation and to present unambiguous data. This technical result is achieved as data carrier has coil L for contactless reception of data and energy and for contactless transmission of data, logic circuit LS to process received demodulated and decoded data, first demodulator DEM100 to demodulate received signals modulated with the aid of 100% on-off keying (ASK100%), second demodulator DEM10 to demodulate received signals modulated with the help of on-off keying with modulation degree less than 100%. Second demodulator DEM10 is so controlled that with reception of signal modulated in accord with ASK100% it is deactivated by first demodulator. Process of employment of such data carrier consists in deactivation of second demodulator DEM1O by first demodulator DEM100 after reception of first skip in signal with on- off keying and second demodulator DEM10 deactivates first demodulator DEM100 right after reception of first data bit.
