FIELD: production of synthetic fibers and filaments, particularly, bicomponent filaments used as weft for fabric, methods of their production and production of cord fabric applicable in manufacture of industrial rubber goods, for instance, automobiles and bicycle tires. SUBSTANCE: bicomponent filament for cord fabric with linear density of 28.9 tex has breaking load of 1.9-2.2 N, number of twistings of 740-750 per meter. It consists of as-spun filament with linear density of 13.3 tex with elongation at rupture of at least 300%, breaking load at least of 0.98 N, and cotton component - greige unifilar yarn with linear density of 15-16 tex and relative breaking load of 9.6-11.7 cN/s. Bicomponent filament for cord fabric is produced by slubbing and twisting of its components in modernized hollow double-twist spindle in which bobbin with polyamide filament and cotton cop yarn are located immovable and coaxial to each other. In so doing, imparted to polyamide filament is higher tension than that to cotton yarn winding around core. Direction of twisting of composite filament is opposite to that of cotton yarn. Said method allows production of bicomponent filament for cord fabric with improved physico-mechanical properties under conditions of acting production of capron threads and fibers. Cord fabric with bicomponent filament as weft considerably improves technical-and-economic indices in its processing in tire manufacture. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
