FIELD: mechanized track instruments, particularly, portable machines for cutting by abrasive wheels of rails of various hardness, sizes and types. SUBSTANCE: rail-cutting machine consists of cutting head with engine, abrasive cutting wheel and transmission connecting the shafts of engine and wheel, and also rail clamp and levers of double-lever mechanism of abrasive wheel feed. One lever is hinged to cutting head, and the other one is connected with rail clamp. Machine is additionally provided with inclined cross-bar secured to cutting head. Located on cross-bar ends are members for hinging the first lever of double-lever mechanism of abrasive wheel feed. Abrasive wheel shaft consists of two pars, each of which is supported by two bearings located in bore of cutting head members. End of one part of shaft has cut external teeth, and end of other part has cut internal teeth. In this case, external and internal teeth are meshed. EFFECT: higher efficiency of operation due to improved operator's working conditions on machine and realization of operation at fully loaded machine engine under working (maximum) speeds of abrasive wheels. 12 dwg
