METHOD FOR LUBRICATING SKIS SLIDING SURFACE AND APPARATUS FOR APPLYING LUBRICANT TO SKI SLIDING SURFACE Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: sportive equipment care. SUBSTANCE: method involves locating skis in container; applying lubricant to sliding surface while heating skis sliding surface and lubricant. Prior to heating skis sliding surface and lubricant, container with skis is hermetically sealed. Skis are placed in container on thrusts manufactured from lubricant, and powder lubricant is placed in uniform layer between skis along the length thereof at side of sliding surface, with following evacuating air from container to vacuum of 0.2-0.9 atm. Internal volume of container with skis and lubricant is heated for 4-20 min to temperature of 70-90 C. When heating process is completed, pressure within container is increased and skis are removed from container. Apparatus has skis fastening unit, container connected with vacuum pump, heating device made in the form of flexible electrically heated plate equipped with temperature limiting member. Heating plate is positioned along the side of sliding surface. Skis fastening unit is equipped with retainers embracing skis, and heating plate and is made in the form of thrusts manufactured from lubricant and positioned adjacent to skis leading and tailing ends. Cluster of inventions provides for uniform heating through of skis along the entire length and improved filling of microcracks and pores on sliding surface.
