FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines and compressors. SUBSTANCE: rings are installed in piston by means of at least one holder with segments in ring grooves for pressing to cylinder surface under action of mechanical and/or hydraulic devices. Mechanical devices include springs installed n spaces of segments and piston screw installed for engagement with segments and, through segments, for driving holder semirings apart by turning screw into piston. Hydraulic devices are formed by system of channels in piston and connecting rod and holes in piston ring placed in communication with each other, with spaces of piston grooves and segments of holder and with pressure medium source. Different versions of making and mounting of holder, rods and rings are described in invention. EFFECT: improved technological capabilities irrespective of wear. 9 cl, 7 dwg
