FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, design and manufacturing of compression piston rings of compressors and internal combustion engines. Piston ring comprises two rings with locks shifted relative to each other. Note here that locks of piston rings in their plane have Z-shape, central part of lock is made without clearance and does not extend beyond annular groove of piston. To reduce degree of wear of pair "piston ring – annular groove of piston" there can be installed spring between upper plane of annular groove of piston and upper piston ring. Force of spring pressure on piston rings should exceed force of friction of pair "cylinder – piston rings". In this case upper piston ring can be standard.
EFFECT: invention simplifies the ring production technology.
