FIELD: mechanical engineering; seals. SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for sealing ring clearance in reciprocating movable joints. Proposed collar is made of knitted fabric impregnated with elastic binder. Fabric is made from combination twist yarn containing complex polytetrafluoroethylene thread, linear density of 30-50 tex, in combustion with cotton, carbon, glass or synthetic complex thread, linear density of 30-50 tex, and having from 1 to 6 folds. Outer layer of collar contains additionally solid lubricants, for instance, graphite in amount of 4-10 mass %. Collar is manufactured by preparing a blank from knitted fabric in form of tubular seamless pieces and turning it on mandrel into ring whose cross-section area is greater by 24 - 25 % then cross-section area of collar, with subsequent forming and sintering in mould following process conditions peculiar to binder. Part of tubular blank used to form outer layer of collar contains solid lubricants. EFFECT: improved reliability of seal. 2 cl, 3 dwg
