FIELD: atomic frequency standards. SUBSTANCE: atomic-beam maser has facility for frequency shift of signal injected in cavity so as to alternately generate parts of first and second signals whose frequency is, respectively, higher and lower than inherent frequency of forced radiation, repetition periods of parts of first and second signals being consistent with preset interrogation period; facility responding to cavity detected signal for generating error signal corresponding to difference between peak values of detected signals in response to injection of parts of first and second signals; facility responding to error signal for tuning to resonance frequency of cavity; and facility for periodic supply of two parts of first and second signals during limited interrogation period. EFFECT: enhanced precision of frequency standard. 5 cl, 3 dwg
