SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring fat folds thickness on a flank in vertical direction along the median axillary line at the umbilicus level, on the abdomen, on the thigh, on anterolateral surface in parallel and below the inguinal fold. The fat folds thickness is calculated from formula: (fat folds thickness on the flank) x (fat folds thickness on the abdomen)/(fat folds thickness on the thigh). The value of the formula being within the limits of 34.4-62.0 mm, excessive fat deposit in abdominal region is to be diagnosed. The value being greater than 62.1, android obesity is to be diagnosed.
