FIELD: medicine, obstetrics.

SUBSTANCE: it is necessary to detect the variant of obesity at terms of gestation being up to 12 wk, and then within the period of 24-28 wk. One should measure the thickness of three skin-fatty folds with the help of Best's calipers in the following topographic areas: under inferior scapular angle being parallel to its median edge in direction from the top downwards and from inside outwards, above iliac crest along the middle auxiliary line and in the upper femoral part at anterior-lateral surface being parallel the inguinal fold. Then it is necessary to determine the total thickness value of three skin-fatty folds measured and at its value being 78±1.16 mm one should consider body weight gain to be pathological in women with exogenous-constitutional obesity and at its value being 91.1±2.8 mm - in women with abdominal obesity. The innovation enables to detect the risk group in pregnant women with different variants of obesity and apply the parameters mentioned as a criterion for controlling the efficiency of obesity prophylaxis.

EFFECT: higher accuracy and efficiency of detection.
