HOOK-WALL TUBING PACKER Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: oil and gas industries; setting of packers in oil and gas wells. SUBSTANCE: packer has housing in form of pipe, rubber envelope with reinforcement and load-bearing unit acting on envelope. Housing has two passages closed by detachable pistons. One piston is made in form of bush with through hole. Reinforcement is made in form of thin-walled wavy framework with longitudinal slots forming flexible tabs. Rubber envelope is made in form of double-side coat of framework. Power drive is made in form of cylinder connected with framework; this cylinder has passages leading to inter-tube space. Cylinder is connected to housing for axial freedom of framework in case of deformation caused by pressure of well fluid; it may extend to tubing above piston for delivery of high- pressure fluid to rubber envelope and under rod for receiving pressures in rubber envelope.
