FIELD: medicine and food industry. SUBSTANCE: additive may be used for preparation of biologically active additive to food by method of microbiological synthesis. Food additive contains Cryptococcus laurentii as an active substance of product of yeast biosynthesis including polysaccharides. Proposed additive is prepared in the form of granules and may additionally contain auxiliary substances: lactose, methyl cellulose, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, and ascorbic acid. Food additive is nontoxic, it is not absorbed in intestine, and possesses hypolipidemic and enterosorption activity. Food additive is recommended for prevention of atherosclerosis development.
