DEVICE FOR ESTIMATION OF PATHOLOGIC VARIATIONS IN SYSTEMIC ACTIVITY OF BRAIN Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2177716 C2

FIELD: medicine, applicable for determination of the state of the human's brain and revealing of pathologic variations in its systemic activity. SUBSTANCE: the device has a set of sensors laid on the human head and/or connected to deep-seated electrodes and/or electrodes positioned at a certain distance from the head, multi-channel amplifier of sensor signals, for example, an electroencephalograph with the number of channels corresponding to the number of sensors, signal transduction unit, for example, for transduction from a continuous form to a discrete one, unit for measurement of statistic relationship between processes, unit for measurement of dimensionality of the space of presented processes corresponding to the combined statistic properties of relationships between the processes under measurement, unit for computation of the co-ordinates and/or the values of radius vectors of the presented processes, unit for visualization of spatial distribution of radius vectors of the presented processes, for example a graph plotter or graph display, storage device, unit for measurement of differences of the parameters of spatial distributions of radius vectors of the presented processes, unit for visualization of differences in the integrative activity of the patient's brain, test presentation unit and a synchronizing unit. The device can reliably reveal the degree and nature of stable pathologic variations in the systemic activity of the human's brain, provide for determination of their localization and the nature of violations, quantitative estimation of the degree of pathologic variations associated with execution of tests or with any changes of the brain functional state. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy. 6 cl, 1 dwg
