FIELD: coal-based fuels. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of highly demineralized water-coal fuel, in particular coal-based fuel that can be used for combustion in boilers, furnaces, and other heat-and-power interactions replacing gas and mazut. Process involves crushing of coal and wet disintegration thereof to give water-coal colloidal suspension with average disperse phase no larger than 3 mcm. Suspension is diluted with water to coal concentration 1-3%, after which coal is subjected to stepwise demineralization to reduce its ash content and to give primary and secondary products. Demineralization of the two products is performed simultaneously by combining products with close ash contents. EFFECT: increased degree of demineralization. 1 dwg, 2 ex
