DEMINERALIZED WATER-COAL FUEL PRODUCTION PROCESS Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: alternative fuels.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of demineralized water-coal fuel used for combustion on heat-and-power plants, mainly in coal or gas-mazut boilers. Process comprises crushing original coal to fineness class -D corresponding to maximum size of joints between organic portion of coal and mineral inclusions. Classification of crushed coal is performed according to fineness classes +D, -D, +d, and -d. Class -d coal is conveyed into classifier, class +D coal to re-crushing, and class -D and +D coals are saturated with water to specified moisture content level and then introduced into resonator of working chamber of microwave generator, wherein porous organic portion of coal is divided by microwave electromagnetic field-caused "interstitial explosion" into fineness class -d material. Thus prepared coal is then directed into multisection classifier and, after addition of water, classification of class -D particles is performed to form particles of +d_o class, which corresponds to minimum size of particles capable of being further demineralized while separating them into at least two fineness classes. Classification of crushed coal separated into fineness classes is carried out at velocity of restricted precipitation of finest mineral inclusion particles superior to that of coarsest coal organic portion particles. Demineralization in presence of water is carried out by gravity concentration technique for each isolated class to give fineness class -d and -d_o coal and to remove tails of -D and -d_o fineness classes. Demineralized coal is fed into homogenizer.

EFFECT: reduced power consumption and coal division and demineralization losses.
