FIELD: printing. SUBSTANCE: used in device for sealing of printing head nozzles ejecting printing ink during printer idling is viscous sealing fluid compatible with printing ink for jet printing. Sealing fluid is applied to surface of printing head to clog nozzles and to prevent drying of printing ink in printing heads. Jet printing mechanism has printing head and service station in which sealing fluid is stored. Service station has application mechanism for selective application of sealing fluid to printing head. Application mechanism has service member and sealing wiping unit transferring the sealing fluid from service member to printing head. Wiping unit may also be used for cleaning face surface of printing head, or said unit may be used for sealing of printing head only. Invention includes method of sealing of jet printing head with use of device for sealing with fluid including stage of sprinkling performed by printing head for removal of sealing fluid from nozzles (180) before changing over to printing process.
