FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: oxyethylidenediphosphonic acid, useful as complexion in a variety of areas, is prepared from above-indicated production waste, which is pretreated to remove admixtures of fatty acids and their derivatives with up to 50% (better 10-40%) acetic acid aqueous solution in amounts 20 to 40% of the weight of waste, thus treated waste being than kept at 60-75 C for 1.5-2.5 h, after which organic fatty acid layer is separated, remaining part is treated with of phosphorus trichloride taken in stoichiometric amount to water and acetic acid contained in remaining part, dissolved hydrogen chloride is blown off the reaction mixture at the same temperature, and resulting acetoxyethylidenediphosphonic acid is subjected to acylation and water hydrolysis at heating. EFFECT: simplified technology, decreased production waste, and increased yield of searched product. 2 cl, 7 ex
