FIELD: welding operations. SUBSTANCE: invention is meant for welding with use of both single-phase, three-phase alternating current and direct current if simple non-controllable rectifier is available depending on make of secondary winding. Lap windings of toroidal type of three-phase welding transformer are dropped in slots of stator ( primary winding ) and of immobile rotor ( secondary winding ). Ferromagnetic wedges are inserted into slots of stator to certain depth or removed in process of fine adjustment. Certain number of U-shaped magnetic circuits are put on outer conductors of stator during coarse adjustment depending on value of welding current. EFFECT: reduced mass and dimensions of single-phase welding transformer with mechanical adjustment, uniform loading of all three phases of supply network, generation of wider range of slantingly falling external characteristics. 1 cl, 2 dwg
