CLEAVING TOOL FOR WORKING LUMBER MATERIAL Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: reprocessing of lumber material. SUBSTANCE: cleaving tool has immovable casing with longitudinal knives extending along perimeter on its outer surface. Immovable casing is mounted in horizontal position and is made in the form of hollow profiled member having closed front cutting edge and configured in conformance with profile of section of work piece to be manufactured. Longitudinal knives have only one sharpened face, namely, front face. Side faces of longitudinal knives are inclined relative to rear faces and made curved, and rear faces are made flat and arranged parallel one with respect to another. Lumber material is moved along feeding-guiding trough by hydraulic cylinder rod and urged onto fixed horizontal casing of cleaving tool for working lumber material by cleaving. While mentioned operation is performed, wooden work piece is cleaved and pressed out of central part of lumber material, with section of work piece corresponding to profile of hollow profiled member. Peripheral part of lumber material is cut into work pieces formed as cleaved slabs. EFFECT: wider range of employment of cleaving tool by obtaining cleaved lumber material of different grades. 2 cl, 9 dwg
