FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to novel chemical compounds of aminomethane sulfonate class eliciting bactericidal activity, namely, to N-benzylideneamino-1-phenylmethane sulfonic acid diethylammonium salt of the formula (I) and to method of its synthesis. Method of synthesis involves reaction of hydrobenzamide with complex of diethylamine with sulfurous anhydride and isopropyl alcohol followed by water addition at 25 C in isopropyl alcohol medium. The claimed compound in concentration 25-30 mg/ml in solution shows the stable bactericidal effect in 30 min of contact. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis, valuable antibacterial properties. 3 cl, 1 tbl, 4 ex
