FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves using blood serum and hair as biological substrates under examination. Atomic spectral analysis method with inductively bound argon plasma in blood serum is applied for determining macro- and microelement concentration in blood serum and hair. Quantitative changes in macro- and microelement concentration with respect to reference values are determined using mathematical analysis methods. Disturbances are detected in biological system of macro- and microelement homeostasis. Macro- and microelement concentration correlation matrices are calculated for revealing ion balance conformity changes characteristic of each nosological unit. EFFECT: high reliability of data obtained; enhanced accuracy of diagnosis. 4 cl, 6 tbl
